Mission Statement



The Mission of Claremont Custody Center is to give tangible value to the citizens of the City of Coalinga by employing local labor, patronize local businesses and provide inmate labor to help in community work; fulfill all obligations and agreements to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation; enhance the lives of employees by providing an ethical, professional, fair and rewarding work place; provide humane, orderly, secure and clean confinement quarters for State prisoners; control costs to taxpayers without decreasing service; develop and maintain favorable public relations.

The Director is responsible for developing and implementing goals that are in compliance with the goals of CDCR. The goals
established for this facility are:

  • Provide a well-defined process to coordinate the services of intake screening, program participation, pre-release planning and parole supervision in compliance with CDC policies.
  • Provide a safe, humane environment.
  • Provide adequate food, clothing and housing in a safe humane environment.
  • Provide a setting in which inmates can engage in productive work, training and educational programs, and other programs to enhance personal development.
  • Provide inmates with opportunities to participate in decision-making activities that affect their adjustment and development.
