CIS-7: This course shall introduce the inmate student to, and instruct them how, to use Microsoft computer programs that are typically used in a business setting, such as Word, Excel, and database programs such as Access. (*Must be taken simultaneously with CIS-8 course.) CIS-8: This course provides an overview of Window Operating Systems such as Windows 2003 and XP. Inmate students shall learn the basic concepts of how to use a computer. (*Must be taken simultaneously with CIS-7 course.) The Computer Information Systems (CIS) computer training is a joint venture program between the Claremont Custody Center and West Hills Community College District (WHCCD). Units earned for these courses are considered in calculation of the individual grade point average. Inmates successfully completing these courses will receive college units as credit for completion, in addition to certificates of completion from West Hills Community College Coalinga. |
