Heavy Equipment Operations

The Heavy Equipment Operations education program is designed to help inmatets prepare for transition from dependent institutionalized living to successful, self-directed re-entry and community adjustment by providing an opportunity for them to obtain viable job skills prior to paroling. This Heavy Equipment Operations education program shall be a combination of work training and vocational training instruction. There will be both classroom work and hands-on training. The inmate student shall learn operational skills for various types of equipment; safety skills; service, repair, and maintenance skills; service recordkeeping, etc. It is a joint venture program between the Claremont Custody Center and the West Hills Community College District (WHCCD). Inmates successfully completing the course shall receive a certificate of completion from West Hills College Coalinga.
