Adult Basic Education (ABE)

ABE provides students with general education development and equips individuals with the fundamental basic skills and knowledge base necessary to participate in the GED Preparation Program.

General Equivalency Diploma (GED) Preparation Program

The GED Preparation Program equips individuals with the skills and knowledge base necessary to pass the GED exam. The curriculum is designed to synchronously strengthen academic and social skill levels. Those individuals studying through this program have the opportunity to take the GED exam while in custody at the Claremont Custody Center. Currently, GED test site administration and testing is provided and proctored by the Tulare Adult School.



English as a Second Language (ESL)

Utilizing ESL instruction, the ESL program provides students with general education development and equips individuals with the fundamental basic skills and knowledge base necessary to participate in the GED Preparation Program while fostering a better knowledge, understanding and application of the English language. The ESL curriculum is designed to teach the non-English speaking inmate English.
